Un romanzo giallo che rappresenta una autentica ossessione per gli intellettuali ebrei in Italia: l' avventura più aspra del commissario Schurke, della polizia criminale tedesca. scritto negli '40 durante la guerra, interpreta i sentimenti popolari più diffusi nei confronti del mondo ebraico, dipinto come imbroglione, usuraio ed immorale. Un romanzo di classe, messo all' Indice dalla lobby ebraica e mai più fino ad ora ristampato, nonostante la sua valente qualità letteraria. La ottusa criminalizzazione letteraria giustifica, in nome della libertà di pensiero e culturale, la determinata decisione di ristamparlo, per la prima volta dal 1941. Sorpresa: è un ottimo romanzo giallo e aiuta a combattere la sclerosi intellettuale del pensiero unico: impagabile vedere, per la prima volta, i " buoni" ( ebrei) nei panni dei " cattivi" e viceversa...tutti gli uomini sono uguali, o no ? Anticonformista.
